After owning a purebred dog with many health issues, Nathan Crockett and his wife Abigail desired a healthier dog as well as one that shed less. They spent a long time researching breeders before finally settling on a dog. The prevalence of puppy mills and poorly educated backyard breeders made it quite difficult for the Crocketts to find the right place to purchase their puppy from.
In 2011, Nathan decided to be the kind of breeder that he had been trying so hard to find. He wanted to offer high-quality, family-raised pups for a reasonable price. Part of that goal was also to have pups that had been lovingly socialized and cared for by a top-notch vet. Nathan first desired to breed Doodles for two reasons, Doodles are hypoallergenic and have hybrid vigor. But not every family wants a hypoallergenic dog. In fact, some families dislike the curly coat of the Doodle or desire a specific look that the Doodle breed cannot achieve. So Nathan decided to apply the “secret sauce” of Crockett Doodles to other hybrids.
